4 months old!!!

So we had our 4 month appt yesterday...and the stats are:

Weight - 13lbs, 9 ozs. - 27th percentile
Height - 26.5 inches - 95th percentile (!!!)

Great - another kid with no hope of being able to find clothing for. Tall and skinny...

He also got shots :-( He actually could have cared less...he was more mad that I pulled the bottle out of his mouth to lay him down to get the shots than he was to actually get poked. He was kinda miserable last night as he's still congested and then to be sore on top of that...

But this morning, he was a trooper and seemed much better.

The doctor also commented that it's time to start cereal and baby food. So last night he did an awesome job of eating dinner comprised of oatmeal and applesauce. I do have pictures, I just need to download them tonight.

But we did have time for an impromptu photo session at the doctors office while we were waiting to be seen:







I can't believe he's already 4 months old, with a tooth, and eating like a big boy! Slow down Logan...Momma's not ready yet!!!

It's a WHAT?!?!

So Logan has been congested for a few days now, each night getting just a little worse. During the day he's fine, but I thought I'd take him in to the Pediatrician...just in case. Turns out, he does indeed have a cold.
BUT - in the process of looking at various holes (ears, nose, etc.) she says this:

"Hey, he's got a tooth in."

A WHAT?!?!

And sure enough, on the bottom is a pretty white pearly busting through.

And if that wasn't interesting enough... When Bridget was a baby, she cut teeth REALLY late. In fact she was 8 months old when she cut her first tooth - on Todd's birthday. Fast forward to today, Logan is 3 months old (almost 4) and cut his first tooth...and today is Todd's birthday.

Angry Birds Rock

My family loves Angry Birds, all of us. We have abused the app on my I-Pad, and our poor home computer sings that annoying tune at least once a day.



Do you think I could justify this as teaching my kids geometry and angles, as well as physics (you know - an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by a pig...LOL!)

TGIF!

So Logan has (almost) survived the first week in daycare...just a few hours to go. The daycare posted a couple pictures on Facebook (they have a page) so I got a nice surprise mid-week when I saw a picture of my little shortstop.



Yesterday the kid's school had a 'Family Fun Fitness Day'. Bridget and I went while Todd and Cody went to get Cody's haircut...he looked like an orphan. Anyways - Bridget's friend Hannah was there and the two of them hit the dance floor. Is this what the dances are going to be like in a few years?! (Sorry it's sideways!!)

I asked Bridget if it would be okay if I waited outside the gym for her (there were a ton of kids and I was just standing there like a bump on a log). She (very) quickly said yes...and it happened. I was rendered un-necessary. I was nothing more than the 'ride home' because she was fine all by herself. She's such a smart kid..I figured this day was coming. And yesterday was a good trial run of things to come. :-)
Pretty soon I won't even be allowed out of the car when I drop her and her friends off at the movies - in the back of the parking lot, where no one will see me and know that her mom even exists.
Of course, that night she was having a really bad sore throat and all the sudden - I was the hero again. :-)

This weekend we are working around the house and getting some "spring cleaning" done. It's supposed to be really cold so it's nice not to have a lot of running around to do. I need to get the taxes done...that's always a fun weekend activity :-)

Logan's first day....

My baby started 'school' today.



It's all boys and a set of girl twins that will be moving up in a couple weeks. Gabe, the baby next to him is only 6 weeks old...he makes Logan look HUGE.

I miss him bunches :-)

3 Months Old!!!

My baby is three months old!


We just started giving him half my milk and half formula to start the change that will likely come as I return to work. Eventually - he'll be entirely on formula, but we'll go as long as possible.

Lately he has decided that napping is for wimps and only gives in to a couple cat naps during the day. The flip side is that he's sleeping like a rock star at night. Sorry mom!

He's such a smiler and is so observant. I thought it was a coincidence the first few times I heard someone mention it, but I really can't go anywhere with him where someone doesn't comment on how alert he is. It's like he's afraid he'll miss something. He really digs the television, especially basketball/football...I think it's the movement he likes watching. He also likes to watch cartoons and we'll pull up Elmo on You Tube and that holds him over for a little while. But it's the sports he really likes.

And I have no idea WHERE he gets the love of the television from...



And he's definitely a Hoelzle. Need proof? He likes the Steelers:



And how about the lounging pose...why do guys have to have a hand there...it's like a built-in security blanket or something...


Oh well - it's probably only a matter of time before he's tracking mud into the house and peeing in the corner...just because. :-)
